Shadow Elf

Shadow Elves are smaller, thinner, and paler than their surface cousins, averaging 5 ft tall and weighing 100 lbs. Their ears are larger, and account for their accuity in navigating total darkness. Their voices are high-pitched, squeaky to human ears.
Prime requisites: A shadow elf with at least 13 INT and STR gains a 5% bonus to experience. An elf with an INT of at least 16 and a STR of at least 13 receives a +10% XP bonus.
Clan and City
Shadow elves belong to a specific clan, which usually determines the city where the elf lives. The clan your character belongs to can change, typically through marriage, though other reasons are possible.

Spell Casting
Shadow elves carry spell books containing the formulae for arcane spells. The level progression table (opposite) shows both the number of spells in the shadow elf's spell book and the number they may memorize, determined by the character's experience level. Thus, a 1st level shadow elf has one spell in their spell book, selected by the referee (who may allow the player to choose). The list of spells available to shadow elves can be found here.
Infravision
Shadow elves have infravision to 90'
Immunity to Undead Paralysis
Shadow elves are unaffected by paralysis from ghouls and other undead.
Detect Secret Doors
Shadow elves keen vision allow them to detect, when actively searching, hidden and secret doors with a 2-in-6 chance.Listen at Doors
Shadow elves have a 2-in-6 chance of hearing noises.Hiding
Shadow elves have an uncanny ability to disappear in near or total darkness, even from those who can see in darkness. Shadow elves successfully coneal themselves with a 2-in-6 chance.After Reaching 9th Level
A shadow elf may construct a stronghold in a cave. This new settlement is considered to belong to the shadow elf's clan.

All 1st-level shadow elves start with four skills, and must take Orientation in Caves. One other skill must be chosen from among the craft and profession skills, representing the character's trade.
